It's official. John Serna and OJ Baclig are going ahead with the JACK TURNER Feature Film. The general plot currently revolves around the mysterious dissapearance of Whittier's beloved Mayor. With reelections just around the corner, JACK TURNER is hired to solve the mystery. But, as Jack gets deeper into the case he begins to uncover clues about the mysterious “Apex” and a vampiric conspiracy darker than he could have ever imagined.

In honor of the late Ysidro "Sid" Suarez, star of the award winning short film, Draky the Vampire, we will be making a remastered cut to be released on DVD via Amazon, Target, Borders, and Kunaki, chock full of special features. If all goes according to plan, 100% of the proceeds from this SPECIAL EDITION DVD release will go directly to Sid's Foundation that benefits people like Sid who have to undergo organ transplants. The release date is still not hammered out.

This Saturday Nov 8, 2008 OJ Baclig shot more footage for the third act of the Death March Documentary at the Filipino Veteran's Day Parade in Historic Filipino town in Downtown Los Angeles. So far we now have over 20 hours of footage to edit down into a feature length hour and a half. A very rough cut should be coming around early February 2009 for private viewing. The first trailer should be publicly release around the same time.

Jack Turner is now for sale on Amazon.com!!! But wait for the Special Charity Edtition coming at the end of the month because that version will directly benefit a charity. More details when the deal is firmed up!
After all the changes had been finalized on Reluctant Vampire and it was authored and packaged in a nice DVD we have now submitted to the second wave of new Academy-Award qualifying festivals all over California and even some out of state. Now, we're not saying we're going to be winning any Oscars neccessarily with Reluctant Vampire, but at least we'll be in good company! We'll keep you posted on festvial screenings as they hopefully trickle in.
After a number of successful screenings we've decided that we want to make Reluctant Vampire even better. So, we've fixed up the color thanks to the awesome talents of Charles Haine. Take a look at this image still of the gorgeous Whittier skyline.
Also, we've fine-tuned the cut by deleting some portions that we thought maybe ran a little too long, in an effort to maximize it's entertainment value. All those involved in the production can look forward to the newly authored DVD with bonus footage and the newly remastered cut tighter cut.

Along with Dana Osborne, OJ Baclig is currently post production of a feature length documentary shot on location in the Philippines about the Filipino side of World War II. The documentary focuses on the experience of OJ's grandfather Faustino "Peping" Baclig and will feature interviews of Peping as well as other friends and family who lived through perils of WW II in the Philippines. Look for a rough cut of this mid 2009.

Shooting for the short film "In the Dark" wrapped July 9. Michael Woxland (Director of Photography/Camera) and OJ Baclig (Assistant Camera/P2).
